The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is recruiting Higher Legal Executives. Candidates must have a qualification at Level 6 on the NFQ major award (i.e. diploma level) or a professional qualification in an area related to the role. Candidates must also have minimum of 2 years’ relevant professional experience as a legal executive or a paralegal in one or more of the following areas:

  • Criminal, Regulatory or Enforcement law
  • Administrative, Constitutional or European law
  • Litigation and/or litigation involving public bodies
  • Employment Law

Candidates will also be expected to display good communication skills, an ability to work independently and in a team environment, and an ability to organise, prioritise and manage a legal caseload. Shortlisting may apply. Canvassing will disqualify.

The competition will be carried out in line with the codes of practice as published by the Commission for Public Service Appointments which are available at http://www.cpsa.ie/.
